Well we have arrived at our most exciting time of the Wine Calendar Year - Harvest.
Beginning late last week in the crisp night air by the light of the moon we harvested our first grapes of the season, as ever, the Adelaide Hills Pinot Grigio. With the bushfires in the Adelaide Hills we feel grateful she was there to pick, and is looking excellent. Next up was the Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc, and a short time later, on the outskirts of Charleston, our Adelaide Hills Chardonnay.
The Adelaide Hills is one of the coolest wine regions within South Australia making it perfect to grow varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay. The cool evenings keep the natural acidity in these wines high with bright minerality and vibrant fruit flavours on the palate.
