This Heirloom Vineyards A'Lambra Eden Valley Shiraz was produced from our best Eden Valley Shiraz Vineyard whose clones and viticulture embody the very best in cutting edge but old school viticulture and winemaking. Hand tended vines, sorted bunch-by-bunch, naturally open fermented, basket pressed and stored in French oak barriques from bespoke coopers.
Being an old vine cooler climate Shiraz the wine has a deep, dark, plummy and dense hue.
This Heirloom Vineyards Eden Valley Shiraz has deep aromatics, perfumed with musk and nutmeg; cinnamon and star anise; boysenberry, freshly crushed and folded bay leave. These aromatics are intensely layered and mask a deft dose of the best and subtlest oak spice.
The palate is velvet. Texture. Tannin. Tannin just in the background providing essential support and structure to the rich and deep fruit flavours. Savoury plums and white chocolate. A long acid finish that stretches this tightly coiled red wine out. Here is the quintessential Eden Valley shiraz. Flavours run the gamut; eucalyptus to raspberry; blackberry to pepper; olive to plum.
An extraordinary Shiraz from the Eden Valley that will cellar well, 10, 20, 30+ or more years, but is so deliciously perfect now any argument for delayed gratification is almost academic.
