Of all the recent releases from Heirloom Vineyards this was the standout and a classic cool climate cabernet sauvignon that brings together an impressive core of fruit supported by a significant but beautifully integrated structure. At the same time there is also youthful vitality which makes it delicious to drink right now.

Deeply coloured, the wine opens with precise just-ripe blackcurrant aromas plus Coonawarra chocmint and leafiness all wound up in a light blanket of sweet American oak which sits in good balance. The palate displays a tight core of dark fruits with bright acidity and elongated tannins helping to draw out a long and surprisingly elegant finish. If you are a Coonawarra fan, this is a wine to stock up on.   ANGUS HUGHSON, WINEPILOT (August 2021)
