Sydney Top 100
2013 Heirloom Vineyards Eden Valley Riesling has won a Blue-Gold medal and been included in the Top 100 wines of the Sydney International Wine Competition, announced last week. Here are the judges comments:Kym Milne MW - A very delicate and fresh Riesling, with very pure fruit. Lime and some spice characters. Very elegant long and pure with a lovely texture. Enhanced with the food. Not too sharp, just a lovely balanced wine.Oliver Masters - Complex kaffir lime and zest on the nose. A rich, tight, dense palate, but remained elegant. A very powerful wine. It worked well with the food. It kept on travelling.Brett Crittenden - Very tropical fruits. Mineral. Fresh flowers and white stone fruits. Lovely acidity and balance. In perfect harmony with the food. Wow! This really delivers.Cameron Douglas MS - Lovely aromatic lift. Delicious fruit and minerality. An off dry style with lovely acidity which adds to the texture and finish. With the food I love it. It’s a really nice match. Harmony and synergy.2013 Adelaide Hills Pinot Grigio also picked up a Blue-Gold award at the same show.
Heirloom Vineyards in the Daily Mail
Matthew Jukes recently reviewed our 2011 Heirloom Vineyards Barossa Shiraz in the Daily Mail: "great value and incredible expertise in every glass. This is a very smart way of drinking elite wine for a reasonable spend!. The 2011 vintage was not a hot one so this wine is less pumped up and muscular than the 2010. This means that renowned winemaker Elena Brooks has engendered a harmonious, genial character into the wine with a more aromatic nose and a silkier, gentler, blackberry-themed palate. I really like the tender side of Heirloom and I venture that you will fall for its charms, too." Daily Mail February 22, 2014
